Number talks are ideal in supporting procedural and conceptual understanding of mathematics, but teachers often struggle with how to implement them in the middle grade.

In this session, we’ll explore strategies for implement modified number talk discourse structures in middle grade classrooms with a emphasis on developing and assessing and developing students’ reasoning.
